5 Things to Never Do as a Makeup Artist
Indeed, the beauty and fashion industry have a lot more competitors than we can even comprehend. Every single company has its own rivals ready at the marketplace even before the final launch of the opposite artist brand in the eyes of the consumers, Agree?
So, if you are a makeup artist or starving to be one, we have your back. Read down the blog below and learn what thing you should ignore to stay ahead in the game from your competitors and rivals.
1) Testing for Foundation shade on the backs of your hand
No, this is clearly, the wrong way to try out the correct foundation shade for you. Our hands are two shades darker than our face therefore testing foundation on the backs of the hands could give you the wrong match.
Rather you may try testing for the right foundation shade for your face and neck by applying it to your jawline.
2) Using just One Concealer shade
Being a makeup artist you should use at least two concealer shades on yourself or on your clients.
Believe it or no, using just one concealer shade doesn’t give a perfect makeup look, instead you should use two shades lighter concealer shade for your eyes and similarly a different shade for your overall face areas to help disguise the bumps and marks.
3) Using too much Compact or face powder
Applying compact may seem easy but actually, it’s not, it’s one of the biggest game-changer.
If powder or the compact is applied incorrectly, it can give you a flat-finish thereby enhancing your fine lines and making you appear older.
Make sure to use powder or compact correctly and if you can then prefer sticking to translucent or brightening powder.
4) Don’t overdo shimmer or blush
A little shimmer or blush is enough.
Overdoing any of the two clearly doesn’t add anything extra to your final makeup look rather it could make the look even worse.
Simply apply a little shimmer across the tops of your lids and cheekbones and similarly across your entire face.
5) Avoid using waterproof mascara for everyday use
If you are working with permanent client’s almost every day then it is wise to not use waterproof mascara at all.
Waterproof mascaras are dry in nature and can make the eyelashes brittle with regular use, which your client would obviously not like. Hence, try using normal mascara.
